What is ayurveda

What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda originated in India more than 5,000 years ago and is considered the oldest continuously practiced health-care system in the world. The word Ayurveda comes from two Sanskrit words: “Ayur” which means life, and “Veda” which means the knowledge or science. Ayurveda is “the science of life.” In Ayurveda, the body and mind are connected. Each person is a unique combination of the five elements: ether, air, fire, water, and earth. As we learn about the qualities and elements most present in our bodies and minds (called doshas), we are able to make diet and lifestyle choices to best support our own unique constitution. Ayurveda is about learning to eat and live in a way best suited for you and your life so that you can make the best choices for optimal health. Through Ayurveda, you will learn a holistic approach to health and wellness that is rooted in ancient wisdom.
